Playwright Profile

Zachary Michael Jack is an award-winning playwright with recent productions featured by Broadway World and Theater Mania, among others. Zachary’s most recent one-act plays have been staged at First Run Theatre in St. Louis and at Madden Theatre at North Central College in Naperville, Illinois. His three-act comedies have been staged off-off Broadway and around the nation, including a 2018 world premiere comedy, Your Florida Fantasy, at Florida Gulf Coast University’s Bower School of Music and the Arts. Recent past productions include original one-act dramas staged at the Starz Center for the Performing Arts, Tampa Bay Theatre Festival, and at the Florida Literary Arts Coalition (FLAC) Flash Play Festival at Flagler College in St. Augustine. Zachary’s shorter comedies Roadside Attraction and Wake-up Calls have been selected by Northport Plays and the Midwest Dramatists Conference for staged readings in 2018 and 2017 respectively. Zachary is a Playwrights’ Center Member Playwright and a part of the National New Play Exchange.

Zachary is the author of over twenty books in addition to his work as an active scriptwriter, playwriting professor and consultant, and creative writing educator. His most recent production is a commission from Illinois Humanities for the historical play Votes for Women! broadcast on NCTV17.
